Brian Thuer Bio

Brian Thuer is a Project Management Professional (PMP) who brings unique perspectives from his breadth of experiences and roles throughout his career. He started his career in the Washington, DC area in support of programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This also included a 15-month tour in Afghanistan as a biometrics systems field service engineer, and to provide U.S. forces and European allies (ISAF) with systems training for field operations. Upon return, Brian returned to a project management capacity as a consultant to U.S. Army Intelligence Security Command (INSCOM), PM DOD Biometrics, and DIA.

Thuer expanded his growth when he took on new challenges that were outside his comfort zone when serving as PM in other non-government industries. Since 2014, Brian Thuer has worked as a PM consultant for three companies in the energy/ public utilities industry, two Business and Technology Project management roles with financial services firms, and one local community non-profit.

Brian proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve (1999 – 2007) as an Electronic Intelligence Interpreter & Analyst. While attending college as an undergrad, Brian Thuer was activated and deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/ Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003). He happily remains in service with the local community and veterans with his involvement as a board member for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5467.

Thuer holds a master’s degree in business administration from West Chester University and a bachelor’s degree in international business from the College of Charleston. Between these degrees, Brian earned graduate certificates from Mercyhurst College (Applied Intelligence) and Villanova University (Applied Project Management). Brian earned his PMP certification in 2014, which has remained in “good standing” ever since. Brian Thuer’s next goal is to earn the Project Management International Agile Certified Practitioner credential, (PMI-ACP).

Throughout his career, Brian Thuer has become well-known amongst his colleges for his dedication to finding practical solutions to various obstacles that can occur during operation. His reputation as a great communicator with a penchant for leading teams to success empowers him to provide others with the tools necessary to perform at their best. Brian Thuer is also regarded for his interest in building and maintaining strong business relationships displayed by his fierce dedication to his projects.

Brian has been an avid Philadelphia sports fan since early childhood. Having been raised in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Thuer fondly remembers playing stickball and football with siblings and friends in the street, fishing, collecting baseball cards, and watching Phillies games on TV, or even better at Veterans Stadium. Today, Brian enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, especially the outdoors, whether hiking a new trail, going to a game, or laying on a beach. He enjoys practicing Spanish that he learned as a teenager having spent a couple months altogether in Spain and later Mexico as a young factory worker. Above all, Brian is most passionate about being a father to his two young children, Bridget and Thomas, who he loves very much.
